03 Devil's Thrist (Southan Alternative View)

Seeing that Ella was finally found, he let out a little sigh of relief, knowing that she was safe again. As he looked over to her, "Glad we finally caught up to ya, we've been looking for you for a good while."

When he looked over the edge at what she was looking at earlier, not noticing much, curiously he asks Ella, "So what have you been watching down there?"

Abby looks down as things finish up below and then sweeps up to watch Ella's face captured in the glow of Eria, waiting quitely for Ella to acknowlege her pressence.

kuro smiles and turns to Iyrna "ok now thats done lets have some fun" holding his hands up in a devious maner

"Nice trick, dwarf," said a soft feminine voice from the shadows cast by the copse of trees that lined the edge of the cementary that abutted this side of the ancient fort. "Too bad those bones don't hear the beauty of your words. But you dwarves always speak the same language, don't you? One of blood and treachery!"

The speaker finally stepped out of the shadows. She was beautiful with her ruddy hair and tanned skin. Even from the distance of about fifty feet, the pair outside the safety of the keep's walls and those atop the wall could see how the shadows clung to her. They could also see the burning of her flame-colored eyes. Her expression promised death to those who crossed her.

"An jes who might ye be te be badmouthin ma kin like tha?" the dwarf said turning tward the newcomer.

Something felt wrong, and with a few steps the boy backed up behind the dwarf. "Skello..." he whispered out his pet and friends name. For when ever he felt this way he knew he could always count upon his cat. "This feels bad..." he muttered to the dwarf, "Why do you bother us... why do you mock the bones?"

Watching as from the shadows the figure stepped out. Cloaked in red and the shadows following her movements, 'This isnt good...'

As he looks down to Abby from her shoulder, "I don't think that person there is one of the friendly types, we might need to make way to their side soon."

As he looks longer at the person that just appeared from the shadows,
'What the hell are you thinking... going down there is nuts... she stepped out of the shadows like nothing... who knows what else that person can do.'

Abby looks to Seren and then back to Ella and then nods to Seren. "yeah I'm uneasy about this as well, do you want to run for the order or should I send a shadow?" Abby says to Seren keeping an eye below and the other watching her sister for a hint of action.

"lets go around and find out hows it going " kuro put his hand out for Iryna

"I don't recognize that voice," Iryna agreed as she took Kuro's hand. She flashed him a toothy grin as she wrapped shadows around them only to step out of the one belonging to Korin. Seeing how nervous Furor was, she placed her free hand on the kid's shoulder, squeezing briefly to reassure. The skeleton cat turned to blink at the newcomers sleepily.

     

"Demon," announced Ella even as Eria whispered the word into Korin's mind. "She's come because we broke her slaves. They were hers and we broke them." The teen turned her head to look at her sister. "But it was fun, wasn't it, sis?"



"You, oh worm, may call me Mistress," the fiend said, glaring at the dwarf.

"Not likely lass" Korin said with a rumble to his voice like that of a faultline "Especially if wha' th' girl o'er there said is true, an ye be the one sendin tha filth to try an take this keep."

Without warning the dwarf lept from the ground behind her, greatsword drawn as his form standing beside Furor crumbled away like a broken clay statue.

Watches as the figure moved towards the Dwarf, and in a nigh instant the dwarf started to slash the sword he carried on his back at the person. Meanwhile as the little kid moved a step back from the dwarf started to say something and the ground rumbled at the steps of the undead being brought back to life.

'Well seems the dwarf is still one to quick temper, and the littler one bringing in that many skeletons in such a short amount of time being rather young looking... must be a gifted genius for the necromancy's gift.'

As he looked down to Abby, "This is a little trick i learned from you... seeing it a couple times i think i got the grasp of it."
As Seren moved to the top of abby's head for a moment he started to look like he was catching fire, at the end his entire body was covered in flames, but none of them seemed to harm Abby at all. With a flick of two of his tails, two flame shadows appeared on both shoulders of Abby, and hopped down infront of them both.

"Hey, save some for me!" In her suddenly free hands, Iryna had a pair of daggers. Maybe it was the skeletons and this demon lady appearing, but no one really noticed from where they came.



'Father, a Dark One is here,' Ella sent to Donatello. She then hopped down the several feet from her perch to the ground below. "I think I'm ready to dance now."



The dwarf's attack cut through the woman as easily as a hot knife through butter. Even as he finished his strokes, he knew it was too easy. Sure enough, her voice sounded from another shadow not far away. Kuro's blast of wind likewise met little resistance.

"See what I mean? Always attacking unprovoked," she growled, "and unwilling to accept their place in the world...just like the little wannabe over there." At her words, twenty versions of her came out of the shadows in a half ring around the party. Behind them was another ring of another twenty beings that looked, almost but not quite, unlike the goblins from earlier. "But I can fight if that is what you perfer."

Ella backed up until she felt the smooth stone of monastery against her back. Then she opened her senses as she had never done deliberately. Her eyes closed as she focused inwards on what her mind was telling her. Power swirled around her, pure and elemental, as she felt as if part of her was letting go of a grip held for far too long.

Every thing called out to her, begging for attention. It flooded into her. She barely had time to process something before it was being replaced by something else. Her limbs began to tremble. Seeking the stability of the stone behind her, she pressed her hands against the wall, her fingers finding the crevasses left by the ancient tool used to shape the blocks.

She heard Kuro cursing the odds as a darker voice, so very similar to the phoenix’s, gleefully laughed. The second voice was whispering suggestions, not only of how Kuro may be destroyed, but how to make an uppity fiend learn her place. The darkness there scared her and she pulled back reflexively before Dark Kuro could notice her.

She felt her sister's worry, deep and true and constant. For the long journey here, that worry had been a companion as much as Abby herself. It was the same worry that her mother, aunts, and father shared, though with a more acute sense of urgency to it due to the battle. It threatened to fill her with sadness and despair as she lacked a way to make them all understand that she was different and could not see herself ever being fixed again.

Flames burned through her sister's fear. Ella could feel the fire--no, Fire, with a capital 'f'--threatening to consume her. She felt something twisting inside the marrow of her very bones, answering the ancient call of ancestry. It was that call that allowed her to identify who she was feeling. Fighting against her curious mind that wanted to analyze the sensation further, Ella pulled back from Seren and moved on.

She immediately wished she hadn't.

The rest was darkness--no, Darkness, with a capital 'd'. She felt her body begin to drift further away even as she gasped for air. The Darkness pressed tighter against her shaking mind as if attempting to smother out the very light of her soul. There was no separation between the boy's necromantic magic and the demon's raging darkness. It all swirled together in a vortex of destruction.

Ella didn't feel herself sliding down the wall as her knees gave out. She didn't feel the tears leak out from beneath her eyelids. She didn't hear as she began to softly chant through her gasping. Her mind was back in the darkness of that cave where something prowled, cut off from all sources of light and protected by that very fact.

'Help me,' Ella begged inside the cavern of her mind. Only Master heard amid the distractions of battle. He smiled knowingly and pleased. He would do no such thing.

With a soft gulp Furor looks about trying to take note of all that is going on while still saying back behind the dwarf some for safety. Seeing on of the goblins he sets his eyes on the target and loose a water attack on it. There is no way that he was going to allow any of these things to harm his new family. "You know your orders... go...." the boy said his voice now soft, and it seemed to carry the very chill of the grave upon it.

Eleven skeletons moved out each taking a different goblin. Bones quivered in glee as the undead creatures seemed to take delight on the thought of taking the life away from the living.

As the two shadow forms started sprinting towards the goblins, Seren stood atop of abby's shoulder curling his tails towards his back. The shadow forms started to set themselves ablaze, a black flame holding near their feet.

As they each neared a goblin of their own, they leaped towards it with their claws stretched out lined with the black flame.

As Seren looked down to the forms of the lady who copied herself, he looks at each one and guesses at which one to target. Seeing one not having moved for a moment he lifted his tails uncoiling a red whisp of a flame and hurled it at the intended target.

"Moonbeam?" Iryna gave up her battle stance to kneel beside the crumbling kitsunemimi. All she heard was the repeative whisper slipping by Ella's lips, pleading not to be eaten by...something. "Moonbeam, what's wrong?" The gypsy looked up at the copies surrounding the inner ring of goblins that was falling quickly to the combined assault of the group. Her dark eyes were like obsidian, so hard and sharp. She growled, "What did you do to her?"



"I? I did nothing to her," came the reply from every duplicate not occupied battle. Eyes like the flames of hell glittered in the growing darkness. Shadows reached from the nearby wood while the keep cast its own shadow into the night. Goblin blood stained the ground with its own inky blackness. No sooner had one goblin fallen, than more approached from the darker edges of the night. It was as if the army had come again, but it had never came twice in one day before! "Perhaps you should ask him. He is, after all, in league with my mistress. Always has and always will be. He's good at making people go limp too."

It will devour me too." Like the tinkling of a stream, Korin's mental voice rose up some deep well within her even as something small and bony pressed itself against her legs. She latched onto the protective strength of the dwarf and his orderly thoughts with a desperate strength she didn't know she had.

Hearing the plead from Abby that we they needed to get in contact with the main order house people, he redirects his shadows to go to the main hallway where he saw alot of them gathered at, and to the big area where he saw the one called Father Donatello at.

As the shadows made their way to those locations, Seren formed another whisp of fire and targeted the female target.

"Darkness, eh?" The gypsy's expression hardened as she took in the identical forms of the fiend and her goblin-like companion. Daggers appeared in her hands like they were claws. Iryna's grin was feral. "My father always said the best way to defeat darkness was with light. Hey, Eria," she called up to where the Jarolyn still hovered, "how bright does your glow get? I bet something that was created to battle a demon would get really bright. You focus on that and I'll--" Suddenly, the blades in between her fingers were crackling with dark blue flames. "--I'll light those goblins up from here! With fire, baby!"

She laughed, almost manically as she launched the daggers at her targets. More than one mind was thinking about how stable the warrior woman was at the sound of that laugh.



'I didn't earn the name "Star" for my shape,' came the sassy reply. Korin was pretty certain that it was mental, not aloud. It didn't change the fact that the area was getting considerably brighter with every passing second. 'Purity in life, purity in light, purity in sight!'



"FOOLS!" the fiend screeched as some of her pawns fell to the hoard of skeletons and the fiery fox-demon. "Don't you get it? You cannot defeat the Darkness with light! Every light is just a maker of shadows. You worms chose the wrong side of this war."

As the light touched the dark creations below, their forms twisted and changed, revealing their true images. Dark forms, living shadows, now stood where there were once copies of the woman with flames in her eyes. The things that might have been goblins at one point shriveled until there was nothing left. Their disappearance might have been reassuring if there weren't something larger coming out of the ground where the goblins had been.

They looked considerably more tough, though they winced at the light coming from Eria. Blood the color of night leaked from around their eyes and mouth, but still they lifted their axes in salute to the revealed demon standing farthest out from the keep. Then they attacked with a viciousness that could only be found in goblins.
