As the storm kept wailing outside, life within the Pathos House for the Order of Ozain fell into a pattern, one that was familiar to Misami. Two and a half years couldn't erase nineteen years of old habits. Even in the storm, the tolling of the bells echoed through the halls of the temple. The journeymen and masters taught the acolytes as they cycled out of watching the masses of the children that were sheltered by the Order.

The fourth day found our heroes looking out at the soggy courtyard of the Order House as said children splashed in the still falling rain. Journeymen and acolytes watched them with patient expressions. Kids would be kids, after all.

3. Winds of Change (Southan) Terry

Terry walks outside and decides to climb into the tree to relax and just think. "Ahh, the rain is so peaceful nowadays. I love how things seem to just wash away just like how the rain washes away the dirt from the soles of my feet."

3. Winds of Change (Southan) Yama150x200

Yama just leaned on a nearby pillar, whetstone out, sharpening his nails, looking out at the rain.

3. Winds of Change (Southan) Misami

"I wonder when the storm will pass," Misami questioned, leaning against Shiki's chest. "Four days is a long time for a single storm. And there haven't been any major breaks in it either--at least not in the wind."

Yama looked up to the sky and says, "That'ssss a good quessstion, it sssseemssss like the sssstorm issss lasssting longer than it ssshould."

Terry walked inside and walked to Yama and Misami and then said, "This is the work of the Yauri siblings. There was a storm on the schedule a few days ago."

Yama looks to Terry and says, "Who?"

Terry turns to Yama and says, "The Yauri sisters, a trio of siblings who control the flow of rain. The first is Ziana. She is the controller of wind. Second is Zeki. She is the controller of Lightning, and last is Zomiko. She is the controller of water. From what I recall, Zomiko has ties to the Order though. Things seem to be going rather awry with the fact that this storm has been going on for quite a while."

3. Winds of Change (Southan) ChrissWolfDemon

As the names were mentioned one by one, hearing them and what each one had the power of controlling. The though crossed his mind, 'If there's the wind and rain working together to hold the storm here, but in recent there have been already two from the order that we have seen breaking or have broken vows to the order... maybe this might lead to a third.'

As he wraps his arm around Misami, "Well if it is something to do with those three... if one does have connections to the order, couldn't they find out what’s going on with that one. Since they would be relatives of each other I’m guessing the other ones would be near or Zomiko would have an idea of what they were doing."

Yama turns to Shiki and says, "Well, that'ssss a good as place as any to sssstart."

"It would definitely be worth checking out," Misami said. There was a crack of lightning that lit up the sky. A lazy rumble of thunder followed soon afterward, almost sounding tired.

3. Winds of Change (Southan) OrderMother

"I was hoping you'd say that." The group turned to see Mother Sera standing in the doorway. Her face was serenely serious. "I'd like you to check on the situation. Zomiko Yauri is not going to be easy to deal with, however. She's well known for her tendency to lean in favor of whatever Ziana and Zeki want, even during her training here."

Yama, after putting up his whetstone, says, "Well, that doesss'nt sssem to bode well then, sssince I don't think sssshe'ssss gonna be in much of a talking mood."

Terry turns to Mother Sera and asks, "So do you want us to speak peacefully and act silently, or do you want us to speak softly and act loudly, Mother?"

"Well, Terry, I would prefer you speak peacefully and refrain from acting unless necessary. The Yauri Siblings do provide a very valuable service to this city with their storms. To lose one would unravel their power."

"How likely is it that we would need to act, Mother?"

The question came out of Misami before the young woman could stop it. Though her eyes remained focused on the Order Mother, her hand tightened defensively on Shiki's tunic…an action that didn't get missed by the older healer. Her lips turned downward in disapproval, but declined to comment on it.

"Unlikely with Zomiko," Mother replied. "She's the one most dedicated to peace of the three. Zeki is the violent one, prone to destruction. Ziana is the middle ground between the other two. If Zomiko says she can't make a decision about stopping the storm, you should go to Ziana first."

Looking as Misami gripped his tunic, Shiki glanced at her and then back to Sera. "So where would we go about finding this Zomiko, and if need to be found, Ziana if we need to talk to her?"

As he looked up at the ceiling hearing each of the drops echo inside his ears, 'Maybe if we can get two of the three together to put off the storm, the third one will hopefully be inclined to agree with the other two.'

Yama looks to Shiki and says, "Let'ssss hope ssso, otherwisssse, thisss ssstorm might turn off worsssse than it isss now."

Terry nods in agreement, "That would be wise, so I guess then I shall bring my friend along just in case things get a little out of hand. I shall return shortly." Goes off to grab the rifle.

"There is something you will need to remember," the Order leader intoned as Terry retreated to her room to get her gun. There was somber look on her face. Her dark eyes were focused on Misami's face though her words were addressed to the little group awaiting Terry's return. "Zomiko may have been taught here, but she is not a member of this Order. Don't expect her to follow our Vows. To the Yauri siblings, family comes first in all things. That is the Vow they follow.

"And Zomiko and Zeki are rarely seen in public. Ziana is their voice and seems to be their leader. Her decisions, even while she's alone, stand as decisions for all of them. However, she can be...harsh. Zomiko is sweeter, a charming young lady."

3. Winds of Change (Southan) Daxus

"Yes, she is a charming young lady," came Daxus' voice from the shadows surrounding Yama's pillar. The small blue-skinned goblin leaned heavily on his staff as he stepped free of the inky darkness. His weak eyes moved to each of them, seeing without focusing on any one of them. "Very charming, indeed. Though she does have a tendency to be constantly making some sort of noise. Ah," he sighed, reminiscently, "but she does have a lovely singing voice. And the gentlest mental touch."

"I had forgotten that she was one of your students, Daxus," Mother Sera commented as if just remembering that fact. "You've taught so many here at the Order house, despite your travels abroad."

"I only regret that I couldn't help more, Mother Sera," Daxus replied solemnly as he tipped his head towards the older woman. Wisps of his gunmetal hair fell into his face. "You did forget to mention that Zomiko reads minds, gently or not."

'Hmmm, mind control, and one speaking for three, that sounds like trouble.' Yama thinks to himself, after seeing the goblin appear from the shadows. "Ssssso, if we can convince Ziana, that'd would ssssave the trouble of finding the resssst then."

"Yes," the goblin replied simply. A small smile, similar to one that Yama's teacher back in Zinzi wore whenever Yama answered a question correctly, graced his lined face. "Why deal with middlemen, after all?"

As he heard the old goblin mention something about someone having the ability to read someone’s mind, "Well so how would we deal with someone that has that ability... it is a good gift for them to have having a good amount of benefits, but could be dangerous."

As he ponders the situation, "If the one that we are supposed to talk to has the ability to read minds, what’s to be that she already knows and is trying to take refuge at one of her sisters’ places."

"The Yauri siblings must spread themselves out in order to create and maintain a storm over the city," Mother Sera answered. "Their usual formation is to create a triangle from their positions. They live together not far from here, but also own property near the different docks of the city. Ziana would most likely be at the main house, while Zomiko would be at the property nearest the sea docks.

"Here," she continued, handing a rolled piece of oiled paper to Misami. "This is a map of the city. I have marked the Yauri properties on it as well as this House."

"Ziana is their leader, though? Maybe we should see her first instead of Zomiko," the little healer commented as she unrolled the waterproofed map to show Shiki and Yama. Terry came jogging up the hall, a rifle slung over her shoulder on a strap. "What do you think?"

Yama looks at the map, seeing where the main house is, seeing that it's not too far from the Order house, he says, "Well, lookssss like Ziana issss the clossssessst, ssssso, let'ssss ssssee what we can do then." Grabbing his whetstone, making a couple quick swipes across the tips of his claws, and pockets the whetstone.

As Shiki looks over the map, "Well if we are going to talk to her then we should make our way there soon."

Looking towards everyone as they gather up, "Well if we are ready, is there anything else extra we should know about them?"

"Only that their unique abilities make them very useful to the city. Their storms help clear the air of unwanted irritants from the factories and the airship dock--" The Order Mother cut herself off as Daxus raised one hand into the air. "Yes, Daxus?"

"There is a rumor that they have attracted several elementals to their various properties, Honored Mother." His voice was quiet, almost meek as he mentioned this fact. "Even if it is just a rumor, they should know...since they're going to be entering the properties. Don't you agree?"

"It's just a story to frighten children with," Mother Sera scolded mildly, sniffing regally. "It hasn't been proven."

"So they have the elements they can use on their own... and they now have elementals that have joined them..." as he looks over to Misami, "Well, this is seeming to be a little more inconvenient if this story is true..."

As he looks back up to the two elders, "Well let’s hope that the story is as it is a story alone. Having more things to deal with would be a problem."

"Well, proven or not, if they can control the weather, then it'ssss not outssside the realm of posssssibility." Yama says and then looks to the group, "Well, thisssss weather issssn't gonna ssssstop itssself, not without a little encouragement." Yama then gets a taste of something in the air, he looks back to the elders and says, "Any chance we could get Kazuko off your handsss, help issss help, after all."

"Hmm," the older healer muttered. Her cheeks flushed slightly as her lips pursed. "She may go with you. However, she is still under scrutiny for her actions with Acolyte Ryszard and will need to return. I'll release her into your care." She waved her hand at a nearby journeyman who was watching the children play. The man took off at a jog to get the Nyokan woman.

"Mother, I have a request," Misami spoke up as they waited for Kazuko to be escorted to them. She glanced at where young Miki was splashing in puddles with children years younger than her. Misami's mismatched eyes met the Order Mother's dark ones. "Can Miki stay here? She gets frightened so easily..."

"Of course she can stay--" The Order Mother was interrupted by a green blur latching onto Yama. Once the woman stopped moving, they could tell that it was Kazuko who was currently peppering kisses onto Yama's face. Her little circular blades were strapped to her belt.

3. Winds of Change (Southan) Kazuko

"Oh, Yama--I was beginning to think you had forgotten about me!" She exclaimed between kisses.

"Of...courssssse..not." Yama stuttered as he could get an word in edgewise while Kazuko was ‘attacking’ him. "Well, we got bussssinesssss to attend to, and I figured you were wanting to get out and around."

As Shiki waited and listened to Misami's plans for Miki, and heard the rushing of footsteps before he even noticed the shape that made it. He saw the blur take shape around Yama, and the excited Nyokan grabbing hold of him and kissing him many times over and couldn’t help but think, 'Well, I guess I’d be like that if I would have been separated from Misami for a while...' Giving a light laugh as Yama tried to get words out before he was buried under Kazuko's affection. "Well, I guess with her joining up as long as we could hope to pry you two apart, this should be a decent trip."

"Oh, of course, my love--where are we going?" The Nyokan woman asked, settling down a bit. She laced her fingers with Yama's. Her dark green eyes focused adoringly on Yama's face.

"We're going to go on a mission from Mother Sera," Misami explained, trying to keep how uncomfortable she was with the situation to herself. It was just hard to reconcile the monster from Yama's story to the fawning woman before her eyes. Maybe Yama was wrong about who had killed his Lizzy? "And we should really start heading that way."

"Well, we better get going, then." Yama, keeping one hand laced with Kazuko's, Yama said, "the map ssssaid that it wasss only a couple blocksss from here." With that, Yama said to Shiki and Misami, "Shall we?"

"Well since we have Miki here where she would be safe, I'd say we should make our way there, being as quick as possible but still being on the cautious side of this... we don't know yet the extent of their abilities or who they have with them."

"We should gather what we need, then make our way there."

"I really don't like the thought of going out in this storm, but if we have to, we had better get going."

Misami rolled the map back up and lead the way through the Order House. Terry followed along behind the nekomimi healer and the wolf demon. Kazuko dragged Yama along behind them.

Outside, the rain poured down, though not in the curtain it was four days ago when the storm started. Lightning danced across the sky as thunder rolled, rattling the steel shudders of the Order House. The wind slashed through the precipitation causing it to splash into the sides of buildings.

"Well, this makes for really crappy surveillance conditions," Terry said as she made sure that her cigarettes were securely tucked into the waterproofed pocket of the jacket she grabbed. Then she stepped into the weather, instantly getting soaked.

Misami sighed, the cat in her filling her with reluctance, before doing the same.

As Shiki steps out into the rain, "Well as much as we hate to, Misami... this does need to be done."

Walking before Misami, knowing how much she had hated the rainy days and how this was many times worse than those... "Well might as well get this over... sooner that we get rid of this, the storm will be over and no more rain."

'Well, Misami doesn't like the rain, and I don't like it too much either, nor do those around me... they seem to say I smell like a wet dog... though true... even though degrading to me since I’m a wolf, not a dog.'

Yama pulled his hood up over his head, knowing full well that he wasn't going to be able to stay dry anyways, looks to Kazuko and says, "Well, it'sss either Zinzi's heat, or thisss place'sss rain, either way, extreme." With that, he steps out into the rain, getting completely drenched in a matter of seconds.

The small group made their way wetly to the Yauri house, retracing their route to the Order house slightly. Most of the group vaguely remembered passing the imposing house on their way there a few days before. The Yauri house was almost as big as the Order House. However while the Order House had a friendly feel to it, the Yauri house looked distant and cold. Towering above the rest of the house was a tall turret that pointed almost accusingly at the swirling clouds above it.

The gates separating the brief front walk from the street were open slightly, as if the occupants were expecting guests.

"Well, I guess we go in?" Misami asked her companions, one hand on the open gate. It was Shiki who answered.

"Well, if we are expected, I guess we should make our way in... and if anything we would be getting out of this rain for the soon time being."

"Yeah, anywhere isss better than out here,” said Yama, looking at the building, "But, if ssshe doesss have elementalssss around, we might want to be on our toesss."

The group made their way soggily towards the house, Misami leading the way. Like the gate, one of the large double doors to the mansion was open slightly. Misami peeked in the door briefly before pushing it open just a tad bit further and escaping the rain to the house.

As the group was entering the empty foyer of the large house, Kazuko hesitated and looked behind her a moment. Even after the party had safely gotten inside, she stayed on the small porch staring back at the gate with a shocked look on her face.
Yama pokes his head back outside, walks over to Kazuko and says, "What'ssss wrong?"

"N-nothing," Kazuko said, whirling around and nearly knocking Yama over as she almost ran through the open door. A small breeze danced its way up the empty front path. It held a spicy scent that reminded Yama of home and rumpled sheets. There was something more familiar about it, but Yama couldn't quite put his finger on what that was.

The foyer was large and empty. It was dominated by an equally large staircase that sweep upwards to another set of oversize double doors before branching off in two different directions and curving around and out of sight. There were normal doorways to either side of the stairs, both closed tightly. Wind played across the room, stirring the heavy scent of magic that hung in the air.

As Yama moved over to avoid getting knocked over by Kazuko, his tongue caught a smell that he hadn't smelt for a long time. 'Hmm, unusual, that type of smell only hangs in the air of an...' Yama turned back around, walks up to the group, and says softly, "Sssssomethingsssss not right here."

Terry walked up to Yama. Her sharp eyes peered into the nooks and shadows that filled the room, seeking anything that might be out of place. Even her military trained gaze found nothing.

"What's wrong? I don't sense anything wrong."

Following with the caution that Yama presented, Shiki held his hands out on the side of the walls in the shadows, as he places his hand a small blur begins to take place near the feet of where Shiki stood.

3. Winds of Change (Southan) Dark-wolfprofilepic

Soon after the blur made its way out of the space it took shape next to what looked like a shadowed version of Shiki which most have seen before.

"Well if we have to be cautious of this area, it would be better to have a little bit of reinforcement with us... this is an unknown territory for us, so we do need caution."

After seeing Shiki's ‘back-up’, Yama looked to Terry and said, "There issss thissss ssssmell in the air, it doesssn't sssmell humanoid." Yama then starts to slowly look around, knowing that something is amiss.

Terry sees Shiki readying himself, "So I guess it's time to get ready to get some action in." [Assembles her weapon and loads it] "Whatever is coming is getting 3 holes in its head." Then looks around, "Well don't hesitate to let me know if you guys pick up something being that it's not human."

Misami closed her eyes, concentrating on expanding her senses as she had learned at her Order house so many years ago. She rarely used it, but maybe she could narrow down a direction to go? The strong pull of magic surrounded her and her group.

"There's a large concentration of magic through that door," she started, pausing only long enough to point to the door on their level and to the left of the stairs. "But there's a few...people?...through the doors at the top of the stairs." She opened her eyes and looked at her companions. "So which way should we go?"

With one last peek out the door, Kazuko shut it. She was certain that everyone was so focused on the nekomimi healer that no one would notice.

Shiki listened to the description from Misami, hearing the locations she gave out of the potential people in the building. Silently, he hears a light click of something shutting behind them.

As he looks around to the group, realizing that Kazuko was behind everyone, which seemed a little odd because she was usually next to Yama all the time, and seeing that the light has been shut out from the door where they came in from.

"Kazuko, do you know what happened with the door? Just a second ago, I heard the click of it, and some footsteps getting closer to us, and all of us have been standing here but you’re kinda far from Yama... which you've pretty much never left his side."

"I...um..." Kazuko looked exceedingly guilty. Then she offered hesitantly, "I didn't want the rain getting in and I thought it would slow down the wind?"

Yama looked back and heard Shiki and Kazuko talking about the door, Then Yama says, "I wasssss the lasssst one by the door, and I diddn't sssshut it,." Then, Yama's eyes went to a wide vertical slit, and he commented, "You have been acting odd since we got here. You’re not hiding something from me, are you?" His hands were twitching, like a trap on a hair trigger.

As they all look towards Kazuko, the shadow form wolf looks at her with the glaring red eyes and the mouth begins to open up revealing what looked unlike a set of teeth, but a set of four teeth, dripping with a red and black fluid coursing over the fangs.

As the main shadow form of Shiki looks towards her, the shadow started to form the blade in his hand, with the white glow from the energy coursing through it.

"This is no time for you to be hiding anything from us. We already have something to deal with on our hands, if you have something to say for your case say it now..."

As he was speaking the words seemed to come from more of a low tone growl than what would have been known from his normal tones.

3. Winds of Change (Southan) Empty Re: 3. Winds of Change (Southan)

"I'm not hiding anything!" Kazuko lied, her voice a nervous squeak. Her dark green eyes jumped from the angry shadows to Yama's face. Her wide eyes caught and held those of her previous lover. The expression her face was similar to one she had when he had confronted her about Lizzet's death, desperate and a touch fearful. She was starting to recover, however, and managed a nervous smile at Yama. "I just didn't want the wind to come in and make us any colder! You've got to believe me!"

Yama's hands continued to twitch, then, one of his hands grabs the whetstone in his pocket, holding it with both hands, he snarled, "If you know something, now's the time. When this snaps, well, I can't be held responsible for what happens next." His eyes giving off an eerie look, the slit of his eyes begin to expand, covering the entire eye. It would be almost like looking at a pair smoky onyx stones.

Silence fell with all the weight of a stone fortress. The air grew thick with tension and temper. Misami shifted her weight, uncertain if she should interfere or not. The threatening stances of Yama and Shiki seemed to be firm, but for the life of her, the little healer couldn’t see why closing the door was such an evil thing. Just when Misami was about to speak in defense of the Nyokan woman, Kazuko’s voice whispered through the room.

"I thought I saw someone--someone who couldn't possibly be there," Kazuko said after a few minutes of staring mutely at the whetstone in Yama's hand. Her eyes moved back to Yama's. "I just closed to door as a precaution." She took a step towards Yama, her hand outstretched before her in entreaty. "Please believe me, my love."

Yama, just as he was, said, "And who might that be then?"

"Not important," she said, her eyes darting towards the door before returning to Yama by way of checking on the snarling wolves by Shiki's sides. Misami was watching her very closely. The tiny nekomimi had a thoughtful look on her face.

"It was Lizzet, wasn't it?" Misami asked suddenly. She came up behind the two men and placed a hand on their arms as if to sooth them. She was trying to maintain a calming face. This was quickly getting out of hand.

"Lizzy's dead," Kazuko snapped back in return. Her eyes flashed emerald fire. "She couldn't be there for real. Now take your hand off my man."

Upon hearing the name, Yama's eyes went back to normal, his shaking stopped, and he pockets the whetstone, and says, "I knew that sssmell ssseemed familiar. Why would sssshe be here?"

"She couldn't have been!" Kazuko objected loudly. "She's dead. You're mine now. 'Closer than Lizzy ever was'! You promised! You promised!"

As the Nyokan started crying, Misami began working her way around the crowd towards the doors. Kazuko made her way towards Yama, tears streaming down her face.

"You promised," she said miserably before diving into Yama's wet chest. Her arms snaked around his waist, holding him tightly. "You're mine."

"There's no one out here," Misami announced after opening one of the doors and looking out. She stepped back to let everyone else see the same empty lawn she had. Even the gust of wind that rushed through the open portal to wash over them was free from Lizzy's scent.

Shiki was determined keep up his guard from the knowing before of how Kazuko was with her odd swings of emotions, from the events that took place in the Order House--going from the playing the music and alluring everyone, to the fighting, to the tensing up of Yama when she saw him, to the events she did with Ryszard. The woman had to be the craziest creature he had ever met—and that’s saying something when you considered some of his clan members.

"Well, whatever was there, either your figment of imagination or whatever, it’s not there now..."

Still holding his eyes on her, and the shadows still fixated on her, the actions of their movements fixated on as to what her actions would be.

Yama, still on edge, held Kazuko thinking, 'I know that was her, but why would she be here of all places?'

A strong gust of wind blew a blast of rain through the open door. Misami jumped back from the offending water, not quite stopping an indignant hiss from escaping her mouth. Freed from the restraining hand, the door flew backwards to bang against the wall. Another breeze, gentler than before, danced its way into the foyer. Again, it carried the spicy scent of the desert.

Then the doors at the top of the stairs began to creak open. Another breeze drifted down the stairs. It was full of the heavy scent of rain and magic. Under it all was the hint of a partially familiar scent...brimstone.

Watching the banging door flying open and the winds whipping in the strange scents, of which Shiki had no recollection. As the winds died down, he heard the creaking doors from a distance behind him, ones that were atop of the stairs from the sound distance, and with it the strange smell but somewhat vague smell of brimstone, which he had only came into contact with for a short time, but the smell lasted with him.

As he glanced to the top to see what was up there, he started to mention to the others, "I don’t think we are alone here anymore..." as he motions to the door creaking open on the top floors.

As Yama catches the smell of brimstone, he says, "Well, ssssmellssss like ssssomeonessss expecting company." He let go of Kazuko, popped his knuckles, and moved over to the stairs, saying as he goes, "Well, not much we can do down here."

"Let's go!" Kazuko exclaimed, bouncing slightly on her toes. Her nimble fingers quickly unfastened her weapons from her belt. With only a brief betraying glance towards their open exit, she headed up the stairs. With varying degrees of hesitation, the small group followed.

"We should be careful," Misami cautioned as Kazuko pushed open the cracked door further. A heavy scent of magic washed over them as the Nyokan woman revealed a large empty room similar to a ballroom. There were marble pillars separating a walkway from the bulk of the ballroom. A huge chandelier hung in the center of the painted ceiling. Its light reflected off the polished black and white marble floor. As the group slowly entered the seemingly empty room, their footfalls echoed dully.

As Yama steps in the room, the smell of brimstone, and apparently, wet Shiki, hit his tongue. Yama looked around, knowing that something doesn't feel right.

As the group entered the room, hearing the echoes of the footsteps of everyone, Shiki thinks, 'This is going to be a little of an annoyance... everything in here is echoing... guess I’ll have to rely a little more on scent than hearing in here.' With the two shadow forms following to his and Misami's side, Shiki examined the room.

"Well, it is a little more to smell of magical materials in here than what would have been found in a normal building... and this was supposed to be one of the smaller sources with an even larger one in the other room downstairs... what’s going on in here?..."

As the group neared the center of the ballroom, winds began to swirl around the room. The door leading to the stairwell in the foyer snapped shut as a whirlwind began to form in front of it. Directly across the room from it in front of a set of glass doors that led into the dark day, another whirlwind began to form. They were effectively trapped with one funnel cloud on either side of them.

Together, the pair grew arms. Sharp eyes could see something resembling eyes forming as well. All the while, the scent of magic grew stronger in the room.

"Intruders!" screeched one of the elementals. Slowly, they began to advance towards the group.

"MYTH?!" Kazuko yelled as she took up a defensive stance next to Yama.

As they entered and hearing the doors slam shut behind them, he hears the rustle of wind getting louder and closer. After a moment, he begins to see funnels forming in the middle of the room in-front of the doors where they had just entered.

'Well I guess that would be the reason for the wind sounds... still not good though...'

As he glanced upon the forms they started to take more of an elemental shape, being the growing of arms, and looking more to the middle of the funnels, he could see something resembling the slits of eyes.

Upon this moment he looked to them and started to look at them with more of a grim look in his eyes, 'These are not going to be easy to look and defeat, but this will bring me honor to my clan for me to defeat one.'

As Shiki readied himself, he took on a more feral form, as his shadow forms looked a little more darker and the eyes shown a brighter red, they were poised for an offense that some would not look to.

As the shot rang through the room Shiki twinges at the sound, as he was close and had his ears perked up from the sounds of the wind elementals.

'Well this should be interesting...' as he and his shadow forms fade almost to nothing blending in with the shadows cast from the pillars themselves.

The forms take flight from shadow to shadow racing each other towards the second wind elemental with the black electricity flowing from their weapons.

Kazuko takes a defensive stance next to Yama even as Misami does the same by Shiki. Then she strikes out against the bundle of wind in front of the door leading back the way they came.

The creatures try to defend against their attacks, but it is futile. In a very short amount of time, they dissipate into breezes circling the room.

3. Winds of Change (Southan) Empty Re: 3. Winds of Change (Southan)

Watching the elementals fall so fast, Yama's tongue starts darting in and out, looking over to the center of the room, he says, " I can ssssmell ssssomething from there."

Terry looks over to Yama and readies herself, "Is this smell of something hostile or friendly?"

As Shiki forms from the shadows, and the two shadows align himself next to him and Misami,

"Well if this is what one of the weaker auras Misami felt, then I really wouldn't want to see what’s behind the main floor’s room where Misami saw the large magic concentration... but something tells me that these things were something to an effect of an alarm... they did announce us as an Intruder... so we might encounter it eventually if we don't find what we are needed here."

Yama walks close to the center of the room, seeing a chandelier hanging from the ceiling, Yama says, "Lookssss like the sssssmell isssss coming from the chandelier."

Raising their eyes to the chandelier, the group saw a familiar form perched one of the branches of it.

3. Winds of Change (Southan) Rajani

She looked down at them briefly, openly glaring at Shiki. Then shadows wrapped around her form as she blew a kiss at Misami and she disappeared.

As Yama mentions the location of the chandelier being the source of the magical essence, Shiki looks upwards to the center of the room where it hung. As he glances to the center, he feels the cold glare as he caught a glimpse of someone there, Rajani, whom he had seemed to get on the bad side of in their earlier encounter.

'Aw... crap... if she’s here it definitely isn't going to be a good time, something tells me she’s still a bit pissed that I broke her robot...'

As he looks away to try to avoid a prolonged eye contact, he glances around the room for something else she might have tried to barricade them in with... seeing not much in the room except for the random trashed area where the wind creatures formed,

"I think it would be rather advisable for us to get out of here soon... that person that was there a second ago... isn’t very nice to some people... " 'probably has something planned worse for me...' "... so we should try to find this one person here and move."

Seeing Rajani, and the smell dissipating, Yama says, "Well, I'd ssssay we'd better get moving then."

Seeing that Rajani vanished from the room with not much of a trace to where she had went to, he motions back to the door that they entered from. As he has his two shadow forms shift to the wolf nature, he has them start to scout around the door and make their way into the hallway and cautiously look around as to not disturb anything.

"Well we've made it back into the hallway and there's still that one room where the magical presence was..." as he looks over to Misami, "Since we had to deal with the two elemental beings back in the other room, is there any movement on the other auras or have they been still."

Still having his wolves scouting while she tries to begin, preparing for anything that might encounter or interrupt her.

Misami closed her eyes and focused her sixth sense outwards the moment she was at the bottom of the stairs. She lifted her arm and pointed to the right at the door she had mentioned as having a heavy concentration of magical energy behind.

"There's been some movement," she said. "Mainly around a room about...fifty feet down that way...and up?"

Looking at her with a semi puzzled look, 'What does she mean up... is there another floor above here...'

As he looks around trying to see if there is a stairwell around, he sends each of the wolves to the opposite ends of the hallway to see if there was a stairwell that they might have not noticed before.

The foyer held nothing new to their questing eyes. The stairs behind them lead back up to the now-empty ballroom before splitting to go up to a balcony on either side that overlooked the entrance hall. Four doors exited the level they were on--five if one counted the door to the ballroom half a flight above them. The door that Misami was pointing at was ajar slightly and should lead under the ballroom?

Shiki could almost vaguely remember seeing a tall tower in the center of the house as they approached. Maybe that's what Misami meant by "up"?

"Hmmm, well, in a houssse like thissss, it wouldn't sssuprise me that ssssomeone who controlsssss the weather would be up in a tower." Yama then looks to the door Misami pointed at, and then turns to the front door, and says, "SSSSeemsssss like Rajani hassss left outssside at leasssst."

As he notices the door that Misami and Yama were talking about, he saw the slightly ajar door and agrees with Yama. "Well I guess that would be fairly logical... closer to the clouds would make better control of them."

As he waves his hand to the door, both the shadow forms take off from shadow to shadow weaving their way to the cracked door to scout out the pathway to it.

Yama, waiting for Shiki's scouts, looks around, for whatever reason, maybe it's all of the magical energy floating around, or something else, but Yama feels a little uneasy.

The wolves went through open side door, exploring the little hallway beyond for their master. It was an empty hall that led to a glass door. Beyond the glass door they could see what must be a very tidy garden. Far beyond was a curving wall of what must be the tower. As everyone waited for the wolves to explore, only Yama was looking out the still open front door when the sky lit up with a large flash of lightning.

A pale figure, untouched by the steady rain, was illuminated for a brief moment before a wind swirled around the foyer and slammed the door shut against the elements.

"I believe we have company." Yama says as the figure appears.

Hearing the door slam from the main entryway, his attention turns rapidly towards the noise. As he hears Yama mention that we might have company, he focuses his attention more to the now closed door.

'Who or what could he have seen...'

As he leans on the railing of the staircase he fades into the shadow and dashes to the now closed door, awaiting the arrival of his shadow forms, he stands idle to the side of the doors away from their swinging path.

With the arrival of his shadows, he shifts them into their humanistic form placing each to the side of the doors reaching for the handles, ready to open them.

Upon opening the door, a breeze skips through as if it were a sunny day rather than a storm. While the breeze smelled of desert spices, the walk out front is as empty as it was when Misami had opened it prior to the party's entry into the ballroom.

As the smell of desert spices rolls into the room, Yama gets a feeling that works up his back, as scales popping up and back down, like someone flipping through a book. Yama then says, " Thissss won't turn out well."
