Magical Resistances

UNDERDOG RESISTANCE
   Description: Magical strength under pressure is your middle name.
   Mechanic: Any time you have no chance of succeeding at a Resistance roll or your opponent is at least five levels above you, you may roll two d20s instead of one. You add both results to you score. Taking this ability multiple times has no effect. Using this ability requires one of its conditions to be met, but is otherwise automatic.

UNDIVIDED WILL
   Description: Your body reacts to brace yourself against Magical Attacks.
   Mechanic: You add a bonus equal to a third your Magic score, rounded down, to all Resistance rolls. Gaining this ability multiple times has no further effect. Using this ability is automatic.

WILLFUL BEAT
   Description: As you resist magical effects, you become more determined. Instead of weakening, time only strengthens your resolve.
   Mechanic: You gain a cumulative +1 (starting with 0) on Resistance rolls for every Resistance roll you make in a row. Making a roll based off a different Attribute breaks your pattern and causes you to have to begin again at 0. Taking this ability multiple times has no effect. Using this ability is automatic.

WILLFUL SHIELD
   Description: You can generate a field around yourself that causes people to be unable to attack you.
   Mechanic: You may spend an action to activate this ability. When you activate this ability, make a Magic roll. While you generate this shield, opponents trying to attack you must make a Resistance roll against your Magic roll or their attack will be negated. This applies to all attacks from an enemy in a turn. You may only have this ability activated for a number of cycles equal to half your Magic score plus your Endurance score. Maintaining this ability requires no actions. This ability is automatically canceled if you take any offensive action. For the purposes of this ability, the use of Invisibility does not count as an offensive action. This ability may only be activated once per combat.

IMPROVED POWERFUL SOUL
   Description: You have learned to apply your experience in a new way.
   Requires: Powerful Soul in two ability slots; 3rd Level
   Mechanic: Choose one of the following Attributes: Defense, Resistance, or Swiftness. Powerful Soul’s effect now applies for meeting level requirements of the abilities in categories tied to that Attribute. Additionally, this ability counts as another ability slot spent on Powerful Soul. This ability may be gained multiple times. Each time, you choose a different Attribute from the list and it counts as another ability slot spent on Powerful Soul. Using this ability is automatic.
